Frequently Asked Questions

Is our water hard?

Yes. Most of Central Texas has hard to very hard water, ranging from 15–25 grains per gallon depending on the area. Hard water causes scale buildup in pipes and appliances, spots on dishes and glass, and dry skin and hair. A water softener is the most effective solution.

What's the difference between a water softener and a water filter?

A water softener removes minerals (calcium and magnesium) that cause hard water. A water filter removes contaminants like chlorine, sediment, and bacteria. Many Central Texas homes benefit from both - a softener to protect pipes and appliances, and a whole-house filter for better-tasting, cleaner water.

How much does a whole-house water treatment system cost?

Kimco provides free water testing and a flat-rate installation quote. Call us to schedule a water quality assessment and get pricing specific to your home.
