Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if my drain is clogged vs. a sewer line issue?

If only one drain is slow, it's likely a localized clog. If multiple drains are backing up simultaneously — especially lower-level fixtures like basement or first-floor drains — you may have a main sewer line blockage. Gurgling sounds from multiple fixtures is another sign of a sewer issue.

Can I use chemical drain cleaners?

We don't recommend chemical drain cleaners. They can corrode pipes over time, especially older galvanized or PVC pipes. They also often don't fully clear the blockage — they just open a small channel that clogs again quickly. A professional mechanical cleaning is more effective and safer for your plumbing.

How often should drains be professionally cleaned?

Most homes benefit from professional drain cleaning every 1–2 years as preventive maintenance. Homes with older pipes, large trees near sewer lines, or frequent kitchen grease use may need it more often.
