How do I know if I have a gas leak?
Signs include a rotten egg or sulfur smell, a hissing sound near gas lines or appliances, dead vegetation over buried gas lines, or a higher-than-expected gas bill. If you smell gas, leave the house immediately, don't use any electrical switches, and call 911 from outside. Then call your gas utility and a licensed plumber.
Can you convert electric appliances to gas?
Yes. We regularly run new gas lines for homeowners converting from electric to gas ranges, dryers, water heaters, and fireplaces. This involves extending your existing gas supply line to the new appliance location, installing a shut-off valve, and connecting the appliance. A permit and pressure test are required for all new gas work.
